“It is certainly not in keeping with my understanding of the Scriptures because this bill would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself."
Pause there for a minute.
Senator Hillary Clinton citing… the Bible?
I’m not, let’s say, enthusiastic about the current White House administration. At this point, in view of the current presidential popularity polls, even Dan Quayle doesn’t look too shabby. However, I can’t see how a person, a staunch feminist and no friend of the Christian Coalition, could even fill her mouth with the name of Jesus Christ?
Wait a minute. Now I see it.
Senator Clinton is a potential 2008 presidential candidate. Latinos are the new majority minority in America. Eighty percent of the Latino population affiliate themselves with Christianity. Could it be that Senator Clinton is trying to fish for the Latino vote by invoking the name of Christ? Say it isn’t so, Hillary!
Senator Clinton, a piece of advice, if you will. Drop the Biblical references when defending the Latino immigrants (and Latinos in general). We can smell a hypocrite a mile away. The one thing we hate is a hypocrite, especially one that would use the Lord’s Name for political gain. You have our attention already and quite possibly our vote.
Don’t screw it up.
