Is Bush Serious? Nuking Iran an Option?

Since posting about this issue on 04/08/06, the possiblity of nuclear war seems one step closer to becoming reality.

Journalist Edmund Blair reported that President Bush refused on Tuesday to rule out nuclear strikes against Iran if diplomacy fails to curb the Islamic Republic's atomic ambitions.

What is really frightening is that when we think about how overtaxed US soldiers are in Iraq and Afghanistan; our military simply does not have the numbers necessary to launch a major ground campaign against Iran.

Unless the White House reinstates the draft, immediately conscripting ten to fifteen thousand more Americans, training and deploying them within the next several months the only way to attack Iran successfully would either be a sustained air campaign, bringing about massive civilian death tolls in Iran, or using tactical nuclear weapons.

Is this what we want? It's time to stop chatting online, reading People magazine and get off your saddles. Contact your Representatives and Senators and voice your concerns about the possibility of nuclear war looming on the American horizon.
